Having had a business in the Figueroa Corridor for the past 25 years the Macias family, owners of Chano's restaurants, have seen the Figueroa Corridor undergo many changes. Since opening the window for the first time in 1984, we have seen such a tremendous change in the area.We have continued to serve the Los Angeles work force, area residents, and growing USC community, remarked Christina Macias. Over the years, coupled with the growth of the area, Figueroa has become cleaner, safer, brighter, and livelier.
Chano's Drive-In continues to thrive not only in the Figueroa Corridor, but also opened a Chano's Drive In in Baldwin Park, CA since 1988. Our greatest challenge has been staying competitive in this market full of frozen, preservative filled fast food franchises.

However, we have stayed true to our original recipe of simple freshness. We take pride in watching our regulars bite into our Burritos, Nachos, and Tacos with the same great taste as 24 years ago. We pride ourselves in the fact that we have never used heat lamps or microwaves. From our salsa's, pico de gallo, to guacamole, everything here is made daily with the freshest, local ingredients. For the past 25 years we have had our produce and meat delivered from local venders, our beans are made fresh and are refried with vegetarian oil, trans-fat free.

Chano's Opens New Location
On January 12th Chano's drive-thru restaurant added a 2nd location on Figueroa St. The new Chano's now occupies the old Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant which also served as the official Olympic kitchen in 1984. The original Chano's, opened in 1984 at 3000 S. Figueroa St, has been happily serving the community and students fast fresh Mexican food for 25 years. The new location will stay true to its roots by offering the same delicious food, made daily with no preservatives, but offers diners lots of parking, an indoor dining space, as well as a drive-thru service (drive-thru window on the driver's side!). This second location will also give us the space to offer catering, which is something we have been wanting to provide.
